43.SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT JOBS

This position is for a Software Development Manger or Principal / Lead Software Engineer to own and lead all software development activities on very sophisticated Aircraft Simulators and Trainers for a major military and maritime helicopter.
This includes Multi-Purpose Trainer (MPT), Computer Based Trainer (CBT), and Mechanical System Trainer (MST). Duties and Responsibilities will include:Leading software team Producing and maintaining schedule Meeting with internal and external customer interfacing between the client and customers Working with manager to plan and status team progress.

As software lead, the successful candidate will ensure the entire software team do the following,Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.High level and detailed design using object oriented methodologies and UML (Artisan),The successful candidate will have the ability to apply technical software technical principles, theories, and concepts to complete assignments in design, development, and integration of real-time embedded software projects.


he position requires application of technical principles, theories, and concepts to complete assignments of limited scope.
Some travel may be required for this role (in the South and South West of the UK)Required Skills,A technical degree with demonstrable relevant experience.Equivalent practical experience or formal qualifications will be considered.Emerging Technical leadership Skills.The candidate will possess good verbal and written communication skills,Strong understanding and practical experience of various software development lifecycles,Integration of COTS and in house SW evelopment,Proven experience in complex, high performance integrated systems design and development.

Experienced in the debugging of problems,Be able to work independently and within a team.Simulation Training experience
Ability to hold an SC clearance and be prepared to sign and abide by the relevant Confidentiality guidelinesPrior leadership experience.Desired Skill,Prior Aircraft Trainer Simulation experience,Experience of Systems/Software design Tools (i.e ARTISAN/Systems Architect),Experience of System Engineering Requirements tools (i.e DOORS),Experience of Configuration Management Systems within a Software Development environment.
